Xincheng district creates new benchmark for digital economy

Xincheng district in Hohhot is advancing the digital economy by leveraging emerging technologies such as cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence to foster a series of innovative industrial projects.

At the China Unicom Hohhot Cloud Data Center, located in Xincheng district, uninterrupted 24-hour computing power services are driving strong momentum for the region's digital economy.

"The servers deployed here are Unicom Cloud servers, primarily providing computing and storage resources for financial and government clients in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region," Li Pengfei, an operation engineer, said.

Also situated in the district is the Inner Mongolia Data Element Comprehensive Service Center, which has pioneered the nation's first "data element service window" within a government service center. It offers enterprises across the region services, including data asset registration and integrated data consulting, with four dedicated zones for public data, data assets, data intellectual property, and financial services.

So far, the center has issued 51 data asset registration certificates, hosted three training sessions on data elements, provided over 2,200 comprehensive consulting services for enterprises, and brought together 13 upstream and downstream industry institutions. It has also facilitated the data assetization of nine enterprises, with a total asset value of 38 million yuan ($5.32 million).
