Tai'an has been selected as the only city from the province picked for the Ministry of Housing's pilot on ancient tree care, showing its people-focused take on city ecology.
From cherry blossom-lined Leigushi Avenue to the golden ginkgoes of Puzhaosi Road, Tai'an blends seasonal beauty with eco-friendly function. Ancient trees, like a 460-year-old pagoda tree with a QR code sharing its history, are kept safe with systems like the "tree chief" plan, ensuring top care and cultural flow.
But Tai'an's green efforts are more than just keeping trees. Pocket parks have turned unused spots into community spaces with playgrounds, fitness areas, and easy paths. Over 160 parks form a "green network" within 500 meters of every resident.
Tech is key here: Smart irrigation saves 20 to 25 percent of water each year, rain recycling systems supply landscaping water, and carbon-absorbing plants grow in zero-waste parks made with recycled stuff. Problems like tree fluff are fixed with science, not chemicals, showing a promise to eco-balance.
From better school waiting areas with restrooms and seats to local plant research, Tai'an's landscape is a cultural treasure and a living system. Here, green space isn't just for looks — it's the heartbeat of a welcoming, green city.
