The Yuncheng Yanhu District Puju Opera Troupe presented the new historical production Guan Hanqing: Master of Chinese Drama, in Yuncheng, Shanxi province, on Aug 29. The play follows the legendary Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) dramatist’s life — his struggles, creativity and integrity — while weaving in the creation of classics like The Injustice to Dou E. A stirring tribute to a cultural icon.
