The Natural History Museum of China opened a store at Beijing Subway Tianqiao Station on August 15. As the first museum store at subway stations, this "micro showroom of natural history" opens up a new pathway to taping the cultural value of urban public spaces.
In this six-square-meter store, thoughtful design is revealed in every corner. The exterior, shaped like a whale jumping out of the water, draws inspiration from the ocean theme of the Natural History Museum of China. Over 200 cultural and creative products in the store are like the "natural code" waiting to be discovered. Among them, stamp books featuring fish descriptions come with vivid biological illustrations, jellyfish bookmarks are crafted from glow-in-the-dark materials, and inside the "Deep Ocean" series of folders are the fascinating exploration clue cards. The most popular are animal-shaped fridge magnets, which look lifelike and are truly captivating. A major highlight of the store is the stamping area, where you can use six differently colored stamps to create stereoscopic images of iconic landmarks in Beijing such as Tian’anmen, the Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City, and the Great Wall on your stamp book.
Diverse interactive activities make the store a vibrant "cultural space" in the station. You are welcome to sign up for badges and enjoy limited-time offers and discounts.
