PorpHarbor, a high-end craft beer restaurant inspired by Munich's beer culture, opened on Aug 23 at the Civic Square in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA).
The restaurant redefines dining with its unique "coffee by day, beer by night" concept, offering a 15-hour all-day experience. Combining freshly brewed beer with Bavarian cuisine, the venue serves as a hub for coffee lovers, beer enthusiasts, sports fans, and social gatherings.
Andreas Lohr, general manager of Hirschmann Automotive Technology (Nantong) Co, praised the restaurant as a "warm harbor" that offers authentic European comforts.
The restaurant's launch stems from the deep ties between the region and German companies. Nowadays, 16 leading German companies have established a presence in NETDA. Among them, DEVRO Group, the world's largest supplier of premium collagen casings, established its sole production and R&D base in China here, while Merck Group has invested in five major projects over the past decade, totaling over 3.3 billion yuan ($462.95 million).
To further this excitement, a Beer Music Carnival is about to ignite the NETDA Civic Square from Aug 29 to 31.
The event will serve as a holiday celebration offering culture, socializing, and consumption, featuring many German craft beers and top domestic beer brands, a food feast with over 20 stalls, a visual and auditory extravaganza with live broadcasts of the Jiangsu Football City League and rock performances, and an exhibition and sale of local and non-local products.
