Chinese acrobatic drama completes 800th international show in Spain

The Hunan Acrobatic Art Theater recently gave its 800th global tour performance of the original acrobatic drama Dream Journey — Mysterious Xiangxi in Torrelavega, Spain. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

Set against the mystical backdrop of Xiangxi, this drama portrays a romantic tale of a young boy's dreamlike encounters and partings with a phoenix fairy. It weaves in Xiangxi's unique intangible cultural heritage elements like Miao drum dance, Nuo Opera, and Miao ancient song, and integrates high-difficulty acrobatics such as aerial silk.

Since its premiere in 2015, the show has been staged over 800 times with a cumulative performance duration exceeding 80,000 minutes, bringing its captivating performances to more than 200 international cities, covering the United States, Canada, Spain, and Finland.
