Hohhot has been intensifying efforts in recent years to cultivate talent for the low-altitude economy through policy incentives, college-enterprise collaboration, and professional certification, positioning the city as a hub for drone technology and related industries.

At the 2025 Vocational Education Week held in May, middle school students and their parents visiting Hohhot Modern Information Technology School were impressed by skill demonstrations in drone operation and maintenance, architectural engineering, and fashion design. "The equipment and technology here are cutting-edge," said Zhao Ting, a middle school student.

With an eye on artificial intelligence and smart applications, the school has established a curriculum focused on drone piloting, maintenance, aerial photography, and surveying. It has also signed a cooperation agreement with Baosheng Technology Co, creating a municipal-level practice center for integrated industry-education collaboration. The partnership brings advanced corporate expertise directly into classrooms, ensuring students gain hands-on, industry-ready skills.

The school's "Summer Wind" team worked with Baosheng Technology this year to localize the LY-29 connected-wing vertical take-off and landing drone in Hohhot. Designed for forestry inspection and traffic monitoring, the aircraft marks a domestic first in composite-wing technology.

The city's science and innovation center has also launched a comprehensive drone training base, which has already provided science outreach and certification to over 5,000 trainees, with plans to expand to 30,000 by 2027.

Hohhot is continuing to strengthen professional pathways by designating accredited training institutions and supporting drone pilot skill evaluations. To date, 76 residents have earned entry-level drone pilot certification, reflecting the city's growing pool of skilled low-altitude economy professionals.
