With a total investment of 300 million yuan ($41.79 million), the Nantong Digital Economy Innovation Collaboration Center commenced operations on Aug 16. By harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) and data-driven solutions, it aims to accelerate the digital transformation of traditional industries.
Established in 2024, the center is a joint effort between Huawei and Tongzhou district. Huawei provides technical support, while the Tongzhou government and the Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (NHIZ) offer policy and financial backing, focusing on the integration of AI with industry.
The center's total planned computing power is 400 PFLOPS, all utilizing Huawei Ascend 910B chips, with 116 PFLOPS already in place.
Centered on home textiles, a pillar industry of Nantong, the center has already launched its first high-end model, which significantly shortens the development cycle and reduces R&D costs for home textiles companies, driving the industry's digital transformation.
For example, leveraging the center's robust local computing power and the DeepSeek model, Jiangsu Fangzhiyun Technology Co's home textile AI platform can generate a complete design plan, including themes, color matching, and style descriptions, in about 30 seconds.

Beyond the home textiles industry, the center also plans to empower industries such as shipbuilding and marine engineering, striving to build a new digital economy hub in the Yangtze River Delta region.
