Zhengzhou Art Museum is marking the 110th anniversary of the birth of artist Liu Xian (1915-90) with a special woodcut exhibition. Liu Xian, a native of Henan, made remarkable contributions to the rise of contemporary Chinese woodcut prints. On view are 80 representative woodcuts, precious archival materials, and the tools Liu once used. This exhibition not only honors his art but also reflects his lifelong dedication to creating a new national art for the people.
