Baotou finance assists disadvantaged residents

Since the beginning of this year, the Baotou municipal finance bureau has improved its social assistance system, increased financial investment, and improved people's livelihoods.

By the end of July, the bureau had allocated 274 million yuan ($38.21 million) of relief subsidies for disadvantaged people to relevant units at the county and municipal levels. It plans to spend this on basic living security for urban and rural residents, relief and support for people living in extreme poverty, temporary assistance, basic living security for orphans, and basic care services for people with disabilities.

Since June, the minimum living allowance standard for urban residents in the city has been increased by 3 yuan per person per month, reaching 885 yuan. Care and nursing fees for impoverished individuals who have lost their ability to take care of themselves have been increased by 72 yuan per person per month, reaching 559 yuan.

All levels of finance departments in the city will strictly implement the upgraded assistance standards, standardize the distribution of assistance subsidies for disadvantaged groups, and strengthen monitoring of assistance for low-income populations to solve sudden and urgent living difficulties for urban and rural residents, improving people's well-being.
