Young people from Mongolia, Russia, South Korea, Japan and other countries gathered in Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, for the 2025 International Youth Friendship Exchange Camp from Aug 1 to 6.
Through visits to local enterprises, museums, cultural sites, and performing arts venues, participants experienced the city's development and the vitality of its modern industries while forging lasting international friendships.
The opening ceremony, held at the Affiliated High School of Minzu University of China (Hohhot Campus), featured a city promotion video, energetic student dances, and a traditional-style song that drew enthusiastic applause. Participants explored the school's science and innovation center, learning 3D modeling and laser cutting, and trying traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery. A lively morin khuur (horsehead fiddle) workshop, led in English by local students, brought cultures closer together.

At Monishan Intangible Cultural Heritage Town, over 500 traditional costumes, tools, instruments, and crafts were displayed, followed by a hands-on leathercraft session.
