News conference releases details on this year's Changchun Film Festival

At the news conference for the 20th Changchun Film Festival, Zhuang Yan, chairman of Changchun Film Group and deputy director of the festival organizing committee, announced a rich lineup of events to mark two major milestones: the 120th anniversary of Chinese cinema and the 80th anniversary of Changchun Film Studio.

On the evening of Aug 23, the festival will officially open with a grand ceremony and film symphony concert celebrating the 80th anniversary of Changchun Film Studio. The Changchun Film Orchestra will perform a collection of beloved cinematic scores.

On Aug 24 and 25, the "2025 Changchun Film Night" symphony concerts will be staged at the Changchun Film Music Hall, conducted by Fan Tao.

Aug 25 will also see the launch of the documentary film The Forgotten Army, directed by Fang Li, during a special opening ceremony in the afternoon.

On the morning of Aug 28, the Jilin Animation Institute will host a forum titled "Light and Shadow, Animation and Literature: Cross-Media Integration and Intelligent Storytelling", which will bring together renowned writers and directors to explore new forms of narrative across film, animation, and literature.
