Taishan Mountain Scenic Area in Tai'an, Shandong, has joined with online travel agency Ctrip to start an overseas ticketing site, a big step in its global plan.
The system supports 39 languages and 29 currencies, letting travelers from places like the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan book easily via Trip or WeChat. Just a week after launch, 41 international bookings came in from six countries.
To make things better for tourists, Taishan Mountain has implemented comprehensive convenience measures, such as launching a dedicated travel agency booking site and express ticket counters for foreign visitors, with passport scanners for face-to-face help.
The area now has "one-scan entry" for group tours. A single QR code gets entire groups, slashing entry time for 100-person teams from 30 to 40 minutes to mere minutes.
They've also added a priority "green channel" for large groups, offering fast access from ticketing to entry, making things smoother for local and international visitors. These efforts have boosted tourist satisfaction and given the area a great international reputation.
Inbound tourism has bounced back strong, with policy efforts showing great results. Since the start of the year, Taishan Mountain Scenic Area has seen a strong rebound in international visitors. Official numbers show a 93.5 percent year-on-year rise in foreign tourists in the first half of the year.
