Offshore fireworks competition comes to a close

The two-day offshore fireworks competition among six nations wrapped up at Yuantuojiao Resort in Qidong, Nantong, Jiangsu province, on Aug 3, drawing around 60,000 spectators from around the world.

Fireworks teams from Italy, Russia, Brazil, Australia, France, and Thailand showcased their diverse cultural fireworks displays, and finally, the Russian team won the competition championship.

At 7:30 pm, the fireworks display started amid eager anticipation. Drone formations drifted like flowing galaxies, lights danced in sync with the music, and brilliant fireworks erupted, creating a visual spectacle that felt poetic and dreamlike.

Two Guinness World Records were also set on-site. After official verification, the A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains drone fireworks art show broke the record for the largest drone fireworks display. Similarly, the Heaven, Earth and Dragon Scales show set a record for the largest mythological-themed drone fireworks pattern.
