Dong culture shines at Hunan village carnival

Under the sun and amid the sounds of drums and firecrackers, Dupo village in Tongdao Dong autonomous county of Huaihua, Hunan province, recently hosted a carnival showcasing Dong ethnic culture.

The event bustled with excitement. During the gate-blocking welcome ceremony, Dong people in traditional attire warmly greeted guests with rice wine and songs.

The costume parade transformed into a flowing tapestry of colors weaving through the village. The drum tower ceremony was solemn and dignified, carrying forward ancient ethnic beliefs. Singing and dancing performances continuously heated the atmosphere.
