Artists from Nantong, Jiangsu province, participated in music exchange activities at the Izumi Music Festival and Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan from July 26 to 27.
At the Izumi Music Festival, performers from the Nantong Art Theater presented six unique acts that displayed traditional Chinese culture. The instrumental group New Horse Racing impressed audiences with their agile playing and detailed bowing techniques. A segment from Yueju Opera, Legend of the White Snake: Broken Bridge, conveyed the story through delicate water sleeve movements. Moreover, the stirring piece Iron, Blood and Loyal Heart resonated strongly, its themes of heroism and patriotism crossing language barriers and touching the hearts of the audience.
At the expo, the Nantong Art Theater and Izumi's band performed programs that combined Chinese and Japanese cultural elements, highlighting the harmonious integration of both cultures.
Since establishing their international friendly city relationship in 1993, Nantong and Izumi have strengthened their exchanges in education, economy, sports, health, and other areas. This has increased the sense of achievement and happiness among their residents and stands as a shining example of Chinese-Japanese cultural exchanges.
