The Cai State, a vassal state of the Ji clan during the early Western Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-771 BC), endured for nearly 600 years. Throughout its long history, it relocated its capital three times, weathered the rise and fall of the Zhou royal house, and demonstrated remarkable wisdom to survive amid powerful neighboring states.

Currently, the Zhumadian Museum in Henan province is hosting a special exhibition dedicated to the history and culture of the Cai State. More than 190 exquisite artifacts unveil the secrets behind the state's endurance and eventual decline.

Dates: Until Nov 2
