Beihai Tieshan Port East Area welcomes first intl vessel

RUI NING 9recently became the first international ship ever to dock at Tieshan Port East Area in Beihai, Guangxi, marking a milestone in the region's maritime development.

The vessel, carrying 53,030 metric tons of industrial raw materials, berthed at Langen Operation Area's Berth No 1 on July 23.

The berthing signals the start of foreign trade operations at the area's Berths No 1-2 (Langen) and No 1-3 (South zone). The port features five berths — two 100,000-dwt and three 5,000-dwt — with an annual design capacity of 7.45 million tons, serving industrial parks in Beihai, Yulin, and western Guangdong.

The event paves the way for regular international shipping operations, complementing Tieshan Port West Area and Shibuling Port. It is expected to cut logistics costs, boost regional trade, and strengthen supply chains.

Beihai Port's foreign trade surged in H1 2025, handling 8.544 million tons, marking the third straight year it has exceeded 8.5 million tons. With 15 operational berths, it reinforces Guangxi FTZ's role as a key China-ASEAN trade hub.
