Herders in Qinghai harvest ecological benefits

Herders in Heimahe town, Hainan Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Qinghai province, have leveraged their proximity to Qinghai Lake to create a win-win scenario for ecological conservation and tourism development.​​

Since its trial operation in July 2023, the scenic spot on the southern shore of the lake has received over 1.4 million visitors, creating 514 local jobs and contributing 3.89 million yuan ($543,280) to medical insurance for farmers and herders.
