Yantai Penglai International Airport is fully committed to meeting the surge in passenger travel demand during the summer peak season by actively optimizing its route network layout and increasing the frequency of popular flights.

The airport plans to offer over 1,600 flights by opening more than 20 additional domestic and international routes. Throughout the summer travel rush period, Yantai airport will connect to 60 cities domestically and internationally, with an estimated 14,500 passenger flights, averaging around 234 flights per day. It is projected to transport approximately 1.96 million passengers, equating to about 31,600 passengers daily.

Concerning domestic air routes, the airport has notably expanded its offerings to cities across various regions of China. This expansion includes destinations such as Harbin, Shenyang, Changchun, Yanji, and Changbai Mountain in the Northeast; Xining, Yinchuan, and Yulin in the Northwest; Hohhot, Ordos, Taiyuan, Datong, Lyuliang, and Xinzhou in the North; and Nanjing, Wenzhou, and Nantong in the East.

With the international tourism market heating up this summer, Yantai airport has restored passenger flights to Hong Kong and Tokyo. Notably, the resumption of the Tokyo route, effective from July 1, will operate three flights per week, further enriching the Japanese route network alongside existing Japanese routes to Nagoya and Fukuoka.

Furthermore, on July 12, Yantai airport opened two inbound tourist routes to Russia, specifically to Khabarovsk and Vladivostok. This move significantly enhances Yantai's inbound tourism appeal and raises the city's profile.
