The China Consumer Famous Products Industry Innovation Competition, themed "AI Empowering Innovation in Consumer Goods Industry", was launched on July 18 in Xi'an, Shaanxi province in Northwest China.
The competition aims to systematically promote the construction of China's consumer famous products phalanx, accelerate the cultivation of distinctive and competitive industries and high-quality brands, and expedite the integrated application of artificial intelligence in the consumer goods industry.
During the competition’s news conference, Zhu Min, vice president of the China Center for Information Industry Development, outlined the overall preparations. Zhang Kangning, deputy director of the Industry and Information Technology Department of Shaanxi Province, and Ren Junfeng, deputy director of the Xi'an High-tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee, elaborated on the competition specifics and responded to questions from the attending media.
From July through mid-2026, the competition will solicit entries from all over the country. A panel of experts will evaluate submissions based on their scientific value, practicality, and innovation. Awards will be presented across three categories - product innovation, technological breakthroughs, and new consumer scenarios - including 10 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 30 third prizes, and multiple excellence awards.
After the competition, the organizing committee will release the results of the competition through news conferences and various other channels. They will further support winners by facilitating project signings, incubation, result sharing and showcasing to translate success into tangible outcomes.
The committee will also facilitate targeted connections between the participating teams, local governments, and industry associations. The award-winning works will be prioritized for inclusion in the competition’s portfolio, and the winning teams will have preferred access to collaboration opportunities with related companies.
The competition aims to build a high-level competitive exchange platform, with a focus on the integration and innovation of artificial intelligence and consumer goods industry. It seeks to discover innovative products and solutions featuring leading technology, market recognition and demonstrative value in areas such as smart home, new China-chic cultural innovation, e-bikes, infant formula, green textiles, modern food, and consumer data-driven product design
The competition aims to accelerate the adoption and value realization of cutting-edge AI technologies, promote deep integration of technology and application scenarios, and foster a new industrial development model powered by resources and ecosystems. It seeks to identify and cultivate leading enterprises and signature products that showcase China’s intelligent manufacturing capabilities, supporting the consumer goods industry in its high-end, smart, and green transformation.
The competition is jointly organized by the China Center for Information Industry Development, the Industry and Information Technology Department of Shaanxi Province, and Xi'an High-tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee.
