Nantong Xiangyu SOE, located in Tongzhou district, Nantong, has recently secured orders for the construction of two 210,000-dead-weight-ton bulk carriers.

Xiangyu's securing of the two major orders can be credited to the company's ongoing emphasis on technological upgrades.

In the new energy sector, it has developed several dual-fuel liquefied natural gas vessels. To promote energy savings and reduce emissions, it has collaborated with leading design and research institutes on joint research and development efforts.

"We've adopted many advanced energy-saving technologies in practical use. For example, to improve speed and reduce fuel consumption, we have installed popular devices such as rudder bulbs on recently built vessels," said Qin Weimin, general of Xiangyu.

So far, the shipbuilder has secured 214 orders, delivered 121 ships, and is currently constructing 93 more, with a total deadweight surpassing 5 million metric tons. Its 64,000-DWT bulk carriers and small-to-medium-sized stainless steel chemical tankers are leading in national order rankings.

"Our brand is well-known and has a favorable market. We will seize this opportunity to further expand our market, focus on our two flagship products, and enhance the production capacity and brand influence," Qin outlined future plans.
