Time-honored Jinan food chain launches coffee pilot

Chaoyixing, a well-known food chain in Jinan, the capital of East China's Shandong province, has launched a pilot program offering freshly brewed coffee at one of its locations in the western part of the city. The initiative introduces "X.Coffee", a new in-house label featuring hand-crafted beverages prepared by store staff.

According to a staff member of Chaoyixing, the coffee menu is part of a trial effort at the new store, with an official rollout expected around July 15.

The program is currently limited to a single location in Jinan, offering just two classic options – Americano and latte, which are priced between 7 yuan ($0.97) to 10 yuan per cup. Broader expansion plans are still under consideration, according to the store manager.

Founded in 1993, Jinan Chaoyixing Catering Co Ltd traces its roots to one of the time-honored local brands named "Zhengtaiheng". The company operates several signature brands, including Chaoyixing Fast Food and its renowned Bazirou Pork, a dish that has received national recognition for its cultural and culinary heritage.
