The link directly connects Qianhai in Shenzhen, Nansha in Guangzhou, and the Cuiheng New Area in Zhongshan, Guangdong province. Cross-city bus and tourism lines connecting Shenzhen to Zhongshan and Nansha have been opened.
"The Shenzhen-Zhongshan bus line has carried nearly 2.8 million passengers," said Sun Rong, head of the public transport management section of Zhongshan's transportation bureau.
Over the past year, the number of passengers from the Pearl River's western bank traveling to Shenzhen Airport has also doubled, according to Sun.
From July 2024 to May 2025, Zhongshan received 25.21 million visitors, marking a 26.94 percent year-on-year increase, according to statistics from Zhongshan's bureau of culture, radio, television and tourism.
