The exhibition From Painting School to Academy: The Modern Transformation of Lingnan Chinese Painting opened at Wuhan Art Museum on Tuesday.
Wuhan was a cradle for Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, whose predecessor conducted a bold reimagining of traditional Chinese painting in the 20th century in the area. Many of the artworks on display capture scenes of Wuhan's daily life, industry, and landscapes, offering a vivid portrait of the city's evolution.
