The Tonglushan Ancient Copper Mine Site in Daye, Huangshi, Hubei province, has recently been designated as a National Archaeological Site Park. Spanning the Western Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-771 BC) to the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24), it is one of China's best-preserved, earliest-excavated, most advanced, and largest ancient copper mining sites.
Digital recreation of ancient deep-shaft mining, displays of ancient mining and smelting remains, and theatrical performances — all vividly bring the ancient bronze culture to life.
