Li Daixuan from Jinan, Shandong, a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)'s Young Leaders Programme (2023–2026), recently introduced her digital pilot project, Digital for Sustainability (D4S), at the IOC Olympism365 Summit, highlighting the vital role of Chinese youth as a driving force for global innovation.
According to Li, the D4S project aims to leverage the Young Leaders Programme to build a digital-based globalized network for learning, sharing, and exchanging knowledge, information and business opportunities to achieve the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals through sports in Shandong, China and other parts of the world.
Since its launch in 2023, the project has achieved significant results by publishing sports-themed content and organizing a variety of activities, including Olympic and technology education programs in schools, the Spring Water Culture Forum, and co-founding the Sports Culture Forum at the 10th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations in 2024, which blends Olympic spirit with Chinese tradition.
The Olympism365 Summit, which took place in Lausanne, Switzerland from June 3 to 5, is first of its kind hosted by the IOC, aiming to promote global collaboration to build a better world through sport.
The summit attracted around 300 attendees from across the world, while IOC President Thomas Bach outlined the mission in his opening speech – to put sport at the service of society.
