In Yanyuan county in Liangshan Yi autonomous prefecture, Sichuan, a unique bronze culture thrived from the Warring States Period (475-221 BC) to the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24). The Laolongtou tomb, a key archaeological site of this culture, traces nearly a thousand years of bronze craftsmanship and cultural evolution.
More than 200 bronzes unearthed from this tomb – ranging from production tools and daily utensils to ceremonial vessels and weapons – are now on display at Guizhou Provincial Museum. The vibrant material life and deep spiritual world of the people living in Southwest China millennia ago await your exploration.
