A new materials project with an investment of 900 million yuan ($123.29 million) recently broke ground in Shanghaimiao Economic Development Zone, Otog Front Banner, Ordos city.
Developed by Inner Mongolia Xuandian New Materials Co, the project will annually produce 30,000 metric tons of conductive agents for new energy batteries.
Construction will proceed in three phases. The first phase, now underway, involves a 300-million-yuan investment and three internationally advanced production lines: a 15,000-ton general-purpose line, a 10,000-ton mid-grade line, and a 5,000-ton superconductive-grade line.
Once fully operational, the project is expected to create 100 new jobs, generate over 50 million yuan in annual tax revenue, and achieve sales exceeding 700 million yuan per year. It will also help close the regional gap in Otog Front Banner's new materials sector.
By reducing dependence on imported conductive agents, the project will provide critical materials for new energy vehicles and energy storage.
