At the Jilin-Hong Kong-Macao Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference & Changbai Mountain Ginseng Promotion Event, Changbai Mountain ginseng took center stage, showcasing one of Jilin's most prized industries.

Jilin, located in the heart of Northeast China, is known for its rich natural resources: China's best forests, finest powder snow, and fertile black soil. Changbai Mountain alone accounts for 60 percent of China's and 40 percent of the world's ginseng output. In 2024, the province's ginseng industry surpassed 80 billion yuan ($11.04 billion).

The region's unique soil, rich in minerals and organic matter, along with pure water and a pristine ecosystem, makes it ideal for ginseng cultivation. Jilin has implemented a comprehensive, green, and standardized planting system, developing over 3,700 products across food, medicine, wellness, cosmetics, and biotechnology.

Economic ties with Hong Kong remain strong, with cumulative investment exceeding $9 billion. Last year, Changbai Mountain's ginseng became one of Jilin's top exports to Hong Kong.

Jilin welcomes partners from Hong Kong and Macao to invest in and co-develop innovative, premium ginseng products, and together explore the Hong Kong, Southeast Asian, and global markets.
