Jinan hosts celebration event for 'China Tourism Day'

Jinan, capital of Shandong province, held its "China Tourism Day" celebration event on May 18, showcasing the city's achievements in high-quality cultural and tourism integration.

At the event, 25 organizations were recognized for their outstanding contributions to Jinan's tourism development in 2024, including major scenic spots, cultural tourism complexes, boutique homestays, and leading travel agencies.

Travel platform LY.com helped to promote Jinan's tourism, including urban micro-vacations, relaxation-focused travel, off-peak reverse tourism, county trips, and the city's night attractions.

The event also unveiled Jinan's first batch of "most beautiful driving routes", connecting the city's southern mountains, Xueye Lake in Laiwu district, and Pingyin county, renowned for its roses. By integrating road trips with cultural and ecological tourism, the initiative aims to unlock the tourism potential along scenic corridors.

Jinan places great importance on its tourism industry and has made notable progress through innovation and resource integration, boosting the city's appeal and growth. During the recent May Day holiday, 30 scenic spots in Jinan received a total of 3.93 million visitors and generated 130 million yuan ($18 million) in revenue.
