For the first time, the Palace Museum in Beijing is showcasing its extraordinary collection of animal-themed paintings in one comprehensive display. Featuring 117 precious works extending from the Five Dynasties (907-960) to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), this exhibition brings you a vivid world of birds, beasts, insects and aquatic creatures with scales and carapaces – all brought to life by the brushstrokes of ancient masters. Explore how painters across dynasties expressed their inner worlds through these lively animals.
