Dong culture shines in Hunan celebration

A cultural celebration of ethnic culture unfolded Monday at a village in Tongdao Dong autonomous county, Hunan province.

Visitors were warmly greeted by the Dong ethnic group's iconic "gate-blocking ceremony", followed by a procession showcasing the ancient charm of Dong architecture and customs.

The rhythmic beats of Lusheng (reed pipe) performances filled the air. Guests joined hands-on activities like rice cake pounding. A grand communal feast was held, and the evening culminated in a spectacular open-air performance, immersing attendees in a visual and cultural symphony.
