The Nanning Area of China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) has recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with the World Free Zones Organization (World FZO) during the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) Congress 2025.
Following the signing ceremony, both parties engaged in comprehensive discussions on the potential for cooperation between the Nanning Area and the World FZO. They also explored avenues for the continued enhancement of economic and trade relations between China and the United Arab Emirates.
The World FZO is a non-profit international organization funded by the Dubai government and headquartered in Dubai. It was established on May 19, 2014. The organization aims to promote the standardization and efficient development of global economic free zones through platform-based operations, policy advocacy to protect the interests of free zones in global trade, and to promote a more open international trade environment.
As of March 2025, the World FZO comprises 1,602 member entities representing 142 countries and regions. Furthermore, it has integrated 14 free trade zones in China, including those in Shanghai, Nansha in Guangdong, Nanjing in Jiangsu, and Kunming in Yunnan.
Moving forward, Nanning Area plans to deepen its cooperation with the World FZO. This will include enhancing exchanges and partnerships, promoting international expansion among companies in the Nanning Area, and facilitating cross-border investments.
