The 2025 Wuhan “Ximatou” (Opera wharf) Art Exhibition opened in grand style on April 9 at Wuhan Theatre! Kicking off the 52-day event, the Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe wowed audiences with the full 8-hour masterpiece The Peony Pavilion, performed over three nights.
Bringing Tang Xianzu’s classic to life, the show beautifully revived the elegance and emotional depth of traditional Kunqu.
