The Lin-gang Special Area Administration signed cooperation agreements with Stellantis, a globally leading automaker, and Venchi, a renowned Italian chocolate brand, in Italy on April 9.

A delegation led by Chen Jinshan, director of the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, visited a circular economy center of Stellantis in Turin, where they took part in in-depth discussions and signed a cooperation agreement.

Stellantis, formed in January 2021 through the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Group, boasts over 30 manufacturing sites worldwide, employing nearly 250,000 people across 130 countries and owning 14 iconic automotive brands, including Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroen, Maserati, and Peugeot.

The two parties aim to establish a center for the sustainable utilization of automobiles and parts in Lin-gang, leveraging the open economic system innovations of the Yangshan Free Trade Zone. They will also enhance logistics services for automobiles and parts, integrating import-export and trade operations to develop a service center at Shanghai Nangang Port and Yangshan FTZ.

The delegation also visited Venchi's chocolate factory in Cuneo, where they signed another agreement. Venchi, founded in 1878, has more than 135 stores in over 70 countries and regions. The brand plans to set up a center in the Lin-gang Special Area for its chocolate packaging and distribution businesses in the Asia-Pacific region. Both parties will also work together to explore digital cooperation in shipping and trade and expand cross-border e-commerce.
