Xi'an leads NW China's tourism market

Xi'an ranked among China's top 10 travel destinations during the Qingming Festival holiday from April 4 to 6, with impressive data showing strong tourism attraction.

According to the "2025 Qingming Festival Holiday Travel Summary" released by travel service provider Trip.com Group on April 6, the number of tourism and air ticket orders in Xi'an increased by 10 percent and 16 percent year-on-year, respectively.

New forms of tourism, such as rural and cultural experiences, have flourished in Xi'an, injecting momentum into the tourism industry's high-quality development. As the summer peak season approaches, Xi'an is expected to unleash its tourism potential and lead the tourism market in Northwest China.

Rural tourism has become a new highlight of the Qingming Festival, with a 20 percent year-on-year increase in domestic orders. The surrounding rural areas of Xi'an attracted many family tourists through themed activities such as intangible cultural heritage handicrafts and flower photography, as cultural experiences and parent-child interaction became core demands.

Trip believes that the "solar terms + cultural tourism" model is an important innovation for tourism enterprises. This model will inject new vitality into the traditional solar-term tourism market by activating cultural energy.
