Forty-five local Miao and Dong youths graced the runway wearing traditional costumes. Even a 70-year-old Miao grandfather, Gu Biao, carried a wooden plow as he accompanied his granddaughter on the stage.
"We prepared extensively by showcasing Miao silver jewelry, batik techniques and farming tools on an international stage. By preserving the authentic essence of our intangible cultural heritage and sharing stories of family histories and rural life, we hoped to make cultural preservation both heartfelt and impactful," said Yang.
