This white jade Chiyou ring was made during the Qianlong reign (1736-95) in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). At first glance, it looks like a single solid ring, but it can actually be separated into two interlocking rings.
Its outer surface is adorned with raised motifs, and hidden inside the ring is a poem composed by the Qianlong Emperor himself. Now housed in the Palace Museum, this jade masterpiece is a stunning example of ancient ingenuity.
