The Guangxi government recently approved the establishment of China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) Liuzhou Linkage Innovation Zone. The advancement of economic development capabilities in Liuzhou city promotes a high level of openness to the global market.
The innovation zone covers three areas, namely Liudong, Yanghe, and Liunan, spanning approximately 104.89 square kilometers.
The Liudong Area will focus on developing industrial chains in new energy, smart terminals, and materials, promoting new business models like cross-border e-commerce and processing trade.
The Yanghe Area plans to prioritize strategic emerging industries such as robotics, smart equipment manufacturing, new energy, and renewable resources, striving to become a national-level economic and technological development zone.
The Liunan Area is set to focus on industrial chains in automobiles, construction machinery, and production services, establishing it as a vital logistics hub and center for domestic and international trade distribution along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
Established in 2019, the China (Guangxi) Pilot FTZ currently comprises three areas, Nanning, Qinzhou Port, and Chongzuo, along with five collaborative development zones in Nanning, Qinzhou Port, Chongzuo, Beihai, and Fangchenggang. The approval of the Liuzhou Linkage Innovation Zone marks it as the first linkage innovation zone within the Guangxi Free Trade Zone.
