Suriname's diplomat: GDI can contribute to Suriname's development plan

China's support in education, infrastructure, agriculture and trade has noticeably improved living standards in Suriname, Pick Fung-Ho Chong, ambassador of the Republic of Suriname to China, said in a recent interview with China Daily.

She stressed that the partnership with China is of strategic importance, and China's Global Development Initiative will boost Suriname's national development plan. "Food security, public health, and capacity building are key areas for us, and we look forward to deeper cooperation with China".

The ambassador also highlighted the role of South-South cooperation in economic growth, especially for small and medium enterprises,"We seek to leverage China's experience in supporting SMEs to strengthen our economy".

"The Suriname-China partnership is a model for South-South cooperation, and we aim for a future of shared prosperity," she concluded.
