Ereenhot Port achieves record-breaking start in January

Ereenhot Port in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region kicked off 2025 with an impressive performance, achieving a record-high cargo throughput of 17.72 million metric tons in January, a 4.2 percent year-on-year increase.

This milestone set a new benchmark and highlighted the robust economic ties between China and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The railway port at Ereenhot handled 15.14 million tons of cargo, a 4.2-percent increase compared to last year, while the road port processed 2.58 million tons, up 5.4 percent.

Imports primarily comprised mineral products such as iron ore, coal, and fluorite. Exports included steel, fruits and vegetables, construction machinery, and electromechanical equipment.
