18 Corporations in Financial Street Top the World 500

According to the 2013 latest ranking the Chinese website of Fortune released, China has a total of 95 corporations listed among the Fortune Global 500, which breaks the record again. To be specific, there’re 48 corporations whose headquarters is located in Beijing while 22 in Xicheng District, 18 of which in the Financial Street. The number of corporations in the Financial Street which are on the list accounts for 37.5% of the total in Beijing. Regional congregativeness of headquarters in the Financial Street has a prominent superiority. If the 18 corporations in the Financial Street are categorized according to industry, there’re six financial corporations (Industrial & Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Bank of China, China Life Insurance, People’s Insurance Co. of China, China Minsheng Banking Corp., Ltd.), six electrical enterprises (State Grid, China Huaneng Group, China Guodian Corporation, China Datang Corporation, China Huadian Corporation, China Power Investment Corporation), two telecommunication enterprises (China Mobile, China Telecom), two trade and transportation enterprises (China Railway Material Group Co., Ltd., COSCO Group), one chemical enterprise (Sinochem Group) and one postal enterprise (China Post).

In addition, there are 20 internationally well-known institutions on the 2013 ranking which have set up affiliates in the Financial Street, with an increase of three compared to the previous year. Furthermore, two listed institutions intend to establish affiliates in Xicheng District. The listed corporations which set up legal institutions in Xicheng District include JP Morgan Chase, Societe Generale, Goldman Sachs Group, UBS, Manulife Financial, Old Mutual and other well-known foreign financial institutions. The Financial Street is paid attention and liked by more and more internationally well-known financial institutions, and its regional internationalization level and brand influence have also been improving.
