Winter swimming showcases high-quality water ecology in Hechi

Despite the cold weather of January in Yizhou district, Hechi, a unique group of individuals changed their warm clothing with swimsuits, and plunged into the icy water of the Longjiang River, reveling in the thrill of winter swimming.

In recent years, Hechi has made significant efforts to protect its water quality, focusing on regulating industrial enterprises, rectifying agricultural practices, and safeguarding key river basins. These efforts aim to ensure water environment safety and continuously improve the city's water ecology. 

In the first three quarters of 2024, Hechi ranked eighth nationwide in the national surface water assessment for cities at and above the prefecture level, an improvement of seven places compared to the previous year.

Hechi, with its fresh air and picturesque landscapes, has attracted many visitors to spend the winter here. 

"I came to Hechi specifically to escape the cold weather. The scenery here is like a painting, and the air quality is excellent. I often sit by the river to enjoy the view," said a visitor from Heilongjiang.
