Guilin's foreign trade exceeds 11b yuan in 2024

Guilin's foreign trade reached 11.39 billion yuan ($1.56 billion) in 2024, marking an 11.5 percent increase year-on-year, officials of Guilin Customs recently announced. 

The city's export value totaled 10.52 billion yuan, up 13.9 percent, while import value dropped by 11.7 percent to 870 million yuan.

Private foreign trade enterprises played a significant role, with a total trade value of 7.54 billion yuan, a 10.7 percent increase. Foreign-funded enterprises saw a 15.1 percent rise to 2.96 billion yuan, and State-owned enterprises recorded a 7 percent increase to 890 million yuan. The number of active trading companies grew to 428.

Trade partners diversified, with the top five being the European Union, the United States, Australia, ASEAN, and African countries or regions, showing growth rates of 10 percent, 3.7 percent, 5.2 percent, 37.6 percent, and 16.5 percent, respectively.

Main export products also saw positive growth. Exports of wires and cables reached 1.72 billion yuan, up 7.2 percent, pharmaceuticals and medicines reached 1.54 billion yuan, up 18.5 percent, and wood and wood products reached 960 million yuan, up 15.7 percent.
