The Shanxi Museum is one of the first museums in the country to be given the title "national first-class museum", and it is the largest center for collecting, protecting, researching, and showcasing cultural relics in Shanxi. Covering an exhibition area of 13,000 square meters, it houses over 500,000 artifacts and more than 110,000 ancient books. Its basic display is categorized into seven historical and cultural themes as well as five artistic themes, which showcase the unique contributions Shanxi has made to the 5,000-year evolution of Chinese civilization.
