Si Shengsheng (巳升升), the 2025 Spring Festival Gala official mascot, was unveiled by China Media Group on Monday, two days before Chinese Spring Festival was officially added to UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The mascot is an adorable little snake inspired by ancient cultural elements. Notably, its eyes and eyebrows draw inspiration from a 3,000-year-old bronze snake unearthed at the Sanxingdui site. The snake artifact, believed to have been a sacred object of the ancient Shu people, is now housed at the Sanxingdui Museum.
