The Minju Opera The Tale of the Door Threshold was performed at the ninth Fujian Arts Festival in Fuzhou on Monday. The story follows Lin Zhengheng, a Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) scholar from humble origins, who persevered in his studies despite ridicule, achieving success and overcoming grudges.
Minju Opera, also known as Fuzhou Opera, is the only Chinese opera performed in the Fuzhou dialect.
