This group of illustrations is inspired by the Tang Dynasty (618-907) poem Spring Morning by Meng Haoran (689-740). They describe how in the early morning the river is covered with fallen petals. The brightly lit house from last night, accompanied by the rain outside, now welcomes the rising sun. People play in the boats, and the raindrops among the flowers are still there, making the blossoms appear even more delicate and vibrant.
