An art exhibition held by Nantong native Wang Huiqin, who is living in Slovenia, opened at Nantong Art Museum on May 13.

The exhibition showcases paintings depicting the legendary journey of Slovenian globetrotter Alma M. Karlin. An animated movie about Alma produced by Wang and a Slovenian artist was also screened onsite.

This year marks the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Slovenia. While Nantong and Slovenia are worlds apart, the Nantong artist promotes friendship between the two places.

Wang has also been dedicated to cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two places. Serving as a visiting professor at Nantong University, Wang helps curate the university exhibition and has encouraged the Chinese university to build friendly relations with University of Ljubljana in Slovenia and University of Rijeka in Croatia.
